Hi,

I've got a few questions.

1] Is it possible that my site viewers don't have to login.
I want that viewers can access the whole page without to register and login. except for the admin and forum ofcourse.

2] is it possible to add new custom menu's( the main menu)see point 3

3] Is it possible to use a other toplogo? like my example
http://www.arjanversloot.com/example.jpg
how to realize my wishes?

so many thanks.

Greetings, Arjan

short answer.. Yes on all 3 questions

1. simply set group access and block permissions for all user groups (ie guests/anonymous)

2. menu's can be customisable with some knowledge.. or you can create navigation bars like on your example image..

3. yes you can create whatever design you want basically as long as u follow a certain structure in the theme file..

the header logo is no problem all the looks and design are done by editing a theme.html file, you will get the general structure when u see it..

for more info u can try herehttp://wiki.xoops.org/

hope this helps

as you can see on my example(photoshop), I want to make a horizontal menu. But how to put a menu there with custom menu options?

Is there a theme, that looks the same as hat I want, so I can customize that with my options.

Yes, I'm a newbee with xoops.

Sorry for these questions, but I can't get out.

You can put your custom menu (horizontal) in the theme.html of whatever theme you find that has a look that is easily customized by you. I have created many types of horizontal menus, though none as pretty as yours. 7dana.com, 4thefort.com, petitoops.net and many other sites have free downloads of themes. Some of these sites, you have to register at, some not. You should look through different themes and see how easy they would be to customize. I believe the Colors theme is easy to change, and the imago themes are easy too.

Hi,

When I edit some text in html\themes\7dana-clean\theme.html

And I save it and reload my page, noting is changed.

I saw when i edit html\templates_c\7dana-clean%2Ftheme.html
then it works.

I don't get it.

Sorry for my stupidy :(

I'm trying to add some menu options like biography to the horizontal menu, when I click on biography I want to see my biography in the main/center of my page.
It looks simple, but still get it to work.

thanks again

Re: couple of newbee questions

go to system admin -> Preferences -> General Settings and set "update module templates from theme/yourtheme folder" to ON, when you are updating theme files (this will recompile the theme files, which are located in templates_c folder, from where XOOPS fetches them)

Once the theme is how you want it, set the setting to off.
