I'm wondering why all news topics have headlines in caps, and whether I can turn that off somehow ?

Check your style.css in the theme you are using. It should be identified by .itemTitle a (or something like that). Change that to whatever you want.

Thanks a lot, it worked perfectly.

Is there anywhere that a list has been made of what css element matches what area of the rendered page ?

For now, try the wiki. There is a good page on CSS elements.

The Docs Team is working on a related document, but don't have the ETA on that yet.
