Hi, one more time.

Here's what I did:

Went into "Blocks administration", selected "Show blocks visible in -Forum-" and made User Menu and Mainmenu "not visible".

After that I went back to my Homepage (which shows the "News" module as the center block) and the Main menu and User menu had disappeared from there as well.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Permissions to display blocks are not controlled that way. Instead, use the edit link next to the block you want to control and then select the pages you want it to show up on. If "all pages" is iselected, de-select it and just select the ones you want. Be sure to make it visible again also.
