I have a perfectly functioning site made with XOOPS 1.3.8 but unfortunately I have to change my server to another one.
Since I hacked a bit the code in some modules, I would not like to install it from new, so I jusy copyed the wholoe site, create another MySql db with the same name and the same data and tables.
The resul was that the site in the home page is right, it takes data from the db so it should be all ok (I changed the mainfile.php according to the DB host, user, pswd, etc.). Unfortunately, it do not recognize any user in the Db, it do not let me access the admin.php page in the /modules/system/admin.php.
Is there any further set I have to change to let the whole thing go as it went in the other server?
Please be so kind to answer me, since I would not have another installation changing all the settings I already made before....

Did you also look at the file/directory properties? Just guessing, it could be a rights problem.

Which directories do you think could affect the recognition of the users?

I have to move the site to the new serverhttp://www.myserver.com, but, as you can see by yourself, there is no data, I mean the site do not take data from the database, how can it be possibile?
I already checked CHMOD and I set all to 777 to be sure.... the settings for the Db are good (I already made an install with that data and the went well... How could it be?

OK, I solved reding a lot of articles around different forums.
The problem was that the php.ini file of the server had a wrong setting, that is:
the register_globals is turned on in. I edit the php.ini file and turn it Off and all went perfect!
