The XOOPS 2 Installer has a built-in upgrader. It detects 1.3.x tables, and upgrades it to 2.0.x automatically. What you need to do is this:
- Make a backup of everyting! Make an SQL dump of your database, and download a copy of all the files on your XOOPS site, just in case.
- Upload the 2.0.5.1 files, overwriting the 1.3.8 files on your server. Make sure you chmod the cache/, templates_c/ and uploads/ folders to 777, and the mainfile.php to 666
- Go to your site's URL, because the mainfile is empty, it'll start the installer.
- Follow the instructions given by the installer, pointing it to your existing 1.3.8 (not emptied) database. Use the same prefix as your previous site.
It should work fine after that. If not, try debugging (check the wiki troubleshooting guide for more info about blank pages after install), and you can always revert back to your 1.3.8 site by clearing the present db, reinserting the backup, and putting the 1.3.8 files back.
