Hi Forum,

can you help a newbie? I need a hack for the news module that shows the 3 newest articel over all categories in a block with the category picture.

Can you help me with a hack?

do you mean the three newest articles in EACH category?
Or the three latest articles with indication of category?

If it is the first, there'll be something like that in the next News module version.

You can try the Topics_Block module which is a hacked version of Lykos_Blocks module. You have an option to have 6 News blocks from different categories. Just do a search for it in the downloads area.

I tried this module. Can't seem to get it to work. And it seems to be the same problem as left on the 3 or 4 comments for this download.

Correction - I found out why its not working. Instead of typing in the Topic name (eg Upcoming Events), you have to type in the Topic number (eg 4)

Yes, the topic id will have to be used. Also, you can use more than 1 topic id per block by separating the topic ids with a comma (4,6,7). You can, therefore, group similar topics.
