The XOOPS search has some nice features like demarking areas where the search terms occur, but it would be Really helpful to see an option of displaying excerpts to give context of the results. Opening pages just to see, then going back to results page... and ooh the page has expired... etc. This is tiresome.

Is there an alternative search module that gives the option of context snippets?

If not has anyone seen the Fluid dynamics search engine. It will work on multiple realms with static and database driven content. The results fully customisable.

NO complaints ... Only suggestions!

Richard

I know exoops has this feature and have to admit yes I liked it.

To realise this you have to adjust every search.inc from every module.
Unfortunately it's not quit clear to me what need to be changed and how it's done.

I know that within the exoops search.inc there is a sentence:
LEFT(description, 95) AS content

Further below showing the results:
$ret[$i]['content'] = $myrow['content'];

These parts doesn't XOOPS search.inc's have. So I think this is the part which does it.

Grtz., Shine
