I installed XOOPS ver 2.0.5.
The installation came with three default themes
default
phpkaox
x2t

But when I use admin account to go into Preferences main-> General Settings, the "default template set" option only has "default" theme can be choosen. the phpkaox and x2t themes are disappear in the drop-down list box

Yes, I have this problem too. I'm tring to do something to fixed this problem.But I'm a new XOOPS user so i'm not so fast. Anyhow I would like to use XOOPS to create my Didjeridoo portal so i'll work hard.

ok, first off default template set is not the same as a default theme. Both of these settings can be configured seperately within the administration panel. To better understand the differences between templates and themes, please take a look at this Wiki article:

Thanks a lot. Now it works.
I steel have problem with the theme i like : "darknaked". because when i set it and i go in the main page it remain loop loading. But this is another story.
TRhank you again..

PS: Could I use a theme of a previus XOOPS release?

Xoops 2 can load an XOOPS 1 theme, but with mixed results. The couple of themes I tried all had problems. I would recommend porting the theme to XOOPS 2 for best results.
