Site Name and Slogan won't take.

In Site Preferences -> General Settings the "Site Name" and "Slogan for your site" are not keeping their values. I enter text (alpha characters only) and when I submit I am returned to the form and the fields are blank again.

All other fields on the form update properly.

Anyone have any ideas?

I also have the same problem... I installed XOOPS tru the cPanel from my host...

Could it be possible he didn't chmod some directory's?

Please help

I believe this issue was resolved in this thread:

It was due to an incorrectly created table. Probably an error with the cpanel installer, but not positive.

Could you please post here again if the same solution works for you? If so, I'd also be interested in knowing the specific hoster and the specific version of the cpanel installer (fantastico?)... Thanks!

Yeah, as you can see that worked for me, the Fantastico installer screwed up the table.

My host is Arteryplanet.net but they do not directly support the Fantastico installer, they are contacting the appropriate developer for a fix.

I have no idea what version of cPanel my host is running, but it should be the latest, stable build.

The solution didn't work for me (or maybe I did someting wrong).
My host is yourspace.be, using CPanel 7 and fantastico to install the XOOPS script...

i'm relatively new to PHP, XOOPS, and having a commercial webhost.

anyway, had experienced the same things since i used XOOPS early this month. i tried changing my site's name and slogan, over and over again, but it is not saved!

browsed thru the forum here at xoops.org and followed one advise of editing the tables thru the PHP MyAdmin. Under the table named xoops_config, i had edited the entry that must reflect my site's name. and it worked!
