Another very strange problem is that in version 2.5.7 the notification box with the news module 1.83 beta1 of my invoice, I can see it, but with this version I can not.

The files should be all good

The part about "Upgrading from previous versions older than 2.5.5 (Full Update)" but also the documentation inside the "xoops-2.5.6_full_upgrade.zip"-package in the "release_notes.txt" (paragraph "Upgrading from versions older than 2.5.0:") states:
File Normal For upgrade
mainfile.php 400 700
/include/license.php 444 777

but i think that should be:
File Normal For upgrade
mainfile.php 444 777
/include/license.php 444 777

because my site stopped working

But on the good side: upgraded from 2.4.5 to 2.5.6 with no problems with the instructions from forementioned paragraph, thanx! Very good!

After upgrading from 2.4.5 to 2.5.6, I notice that "Use jGrowl redirect" not found in Preferences page and in _config table in database too. Also the creating wizard of data/secure.php is missing in /upgrade folder.

I'm trying to do the John Healy upgrade from 2.4.5 to 2.5.6, thank GOD on my localhost

I'm getting the following error

Performing upd-2.4.0-to-2.4.1 upgrade

Fatal error: Function name must be a string in C:\xampp\htdocs\franksrecipes\upgrade\upd-2.4.0-to-2.4.1\index.php on line 127

I used the Full Upgrade package from sf

any ideas?

ok, never mind

i hit the back button on the browser and the upgrade continued without any problems except that the back end looks different from the fresh 2.5.6 build i did a couple of weeks ago.

The help section appears in every section. I click on the lifesaver and it disappears until the next section I access. It won't go away.

In preferences none of the icons are lined up properly. They are sitting half in the footer.

And in modules, the icons look totally different from the install 2 weeks ago.

In publisher the Publish Comment box shows when you look at an item, and if you click on the publish comment button, the publish comment page is huge and doesn't fit the theme anymore. It used to be there was a button to publish comment and it would open the publish comment page.

was it changed again or is there a problem?

For what? For issues related to Help section and icons in Preferences after your Upgrade?

Please clear your cache, and then run the System update.

There were some bugs in the Upgrade, so we might issue a patch to XOOPS 2.5.6, but we need to talk first to the Core Team about it if it will be 2.5.6a, or if we focus on more bug fixes (which might take longer), and then release 2.5.7.

Seriously???? Try reading again what I wrote.

The help dropdown in the backend starts down and I have to manually remove it

The icons in preferences are siting in the footer

Look, there are many issues posted, so I want to make sure that I know what it is related to.

As you can see, most of the time I quote the particular point to which I am responding, so it is clear what it is related to, and the reader doesn't have to search in the thread.
Only if the thread is between me and the other person, I might not quote. It makes just faster communication, and avoids misunderstandings.

I did ask you if this was related to these issues, and if you did clear cache and updated the System module. Normally it helps...
