Ok, been palying with two sites trying to get them together with users.... boy what fun...

So far I have played with babelfish a lot.... it has helped me work out the admin menus.... here is what I have thus far (it is still a little rough as I have had to add a few words) but it should help as a reference to the admin console of the multi-site for smart xoops:

Heres what i found yet I haven't fully played....Don't call your MySQL database SIMPLE.....oops , it is used..

Other then that it ran smooth still haven't tried link two sites though, thxz for translating some..

Yet it is a bit mad as most german's I know speak english... in fact i don't know a german... that doesn't speak english as a second lanaguge??

Well I got two sites running, but need to learn to link em now... btw I did have issues with a theme with the meta refresh (ie redirect when you log out/in/invalid/etc, it is listed in the FAQs how to fix some themes as it took me a few days to work out why it was not redirecting, you can look at posts by me and you will see it (not my answer just a thankyou to bandit-x).

Ok, I get the idea that they want you to update the system module on the master site, but update what part of the system module?

BTW the adding the chmod'ed 777 folder for the site stopped the error of php safe-mode.

I might put on the back burner for a few hours.. play a few games then come back to it. Hopefully by then someone can tell me what it all means :)

An interesting "FEATURE" I noticed after manually adding the folders (as per a few posts above). At this point I will go into a little more detail.

I tested with two sites, one which appears not to have php safe-mode on and the other with php safe-mode on, here on will be referred to as site 1 and site 2.

Site 1 Seitenverwaltung tab showed the multi site profile, while after adding the folder manually site 2 did not, neither in the Profilfelder bearbeiten tab either.... after refreshing the install (through the modules admin) it suddenly showed up (along with 2 others I had tried to add, I did notice my sql database starting to grow more prefixes). After doing this on site 2 I go the drop down menu under tab 3.

So moral of this story is:
If you are running PHP safe-mode then you need to add the FOLDER(s) manually and refresh the install via the modules admin.

Well just when I was about to give up and put it in the too hard bin, I made the above discovery... amazing!

I can kinda see what it is doing as it is generating a new database when I create a new site under the multi-site module, yet I still cannot see it sharing the data for the userbase, I may be a little tired at the moment, maybe even thinking things a little too simplistic but what if there was just a simple hack to direct all authentication to a particular table in a particular database? (I would imagine it would be easy enough to simply hack a hardcoded hack as it is generating the session key/cookie from authenticating against a database, why not just point it to the different table (or different table and database if it is not in the same database)? It might save me many sleepless nights trying to translate German.

Also does anyone else have the SimpleXoops installed and running? I have not seen a site and I am getting worried that it may not work in the end?

Anyway My posts will be less frequent till I either get a little help (as I have hit the wall at the moment) or if Alfred gets back to me with some insight.
