blopy:

When you say 'doesn't work', what do you mean? Does the 'remember me' text start showing up in the login block?

doesnt work for me, and "Remember Me?" doesnt show up either.. i've gone thru and uncommented everything that had to do with the autologin feature. I've also "updated" all modules just to be sure, Remember Me? does not show up.

Sounds like you've missed the template. In modules/system/templates/blocks/system_block_login.html you need to remove the HTML comments. Also make sure you update modules/system/blocks/system_blocks.php and uncomment the 'rememberme' part. Then update the system module once again.

yeah, that was basically it.. I edited it manually, but not thru the Admin area of Xoops.. but I did have to manually copy the template code from the default system_block_login.html to the template set I'm using.. it didnt seem to copy over when I generated the new templates for my template set.. works now though.. :) thanks!

Just curious where you get this auto login module i never actually used it as i heard many things about it had security flaws and could enable a user to take over ur site is this been fixed suppose it would have by now.

Quote:
You don't have to turn 'custom session' on.

You can set the life time of auto-login(=cookie) by "Session expiration" in General Setting of preferences.

OK I found this in an earlier post on this thread however in my version (2.0.6) it says in the session expiration box:

Quote:
Maximum duration of session idle time in minutes (Valid only when 'use custom session' is enabled. Works only when you are using PHP4.2.0 or later.)

So I am a little confused. Do I need to turn on custom session or not?

Re: Auto login

Well it all depends. Some of the autologin hacks state that you must Not set custom sessions but that you Must set the value. I assume that the hack reads the value and uses it but if you enable custom sessions it will clash with the hack.

I've wondered about it myself by now it makes sense when I thought about it.
