I tried to install XOOPS 2.4.4. and smartsection 2.14 on another web server! This error is gone and all the fields were treated better! How would I know what the problem on hosting? Can smartsection require any obredelennyh server settings?

Hmmmm; it sounds like maybe a file permissions issue. Make sure the files exist:

/modules/smartsection/class/item.php

and make sure they have the same file permissions as the other files. Usually files should be 644 and directories 755 on 'nix, but it's different depending upon the server. If on Windows, I likely can't help you there.

If the error files exist, then it's most likely that the server can't read or execute the file due to permissions. Since you've tried it on another server and I've tried it on the same version you have, there is some setting issue and I'm guess file/access permissions. Check both the owner of the files as well as the permissions.

Are you on Windows or Linux?

FreeBSD and Centos
Centos is my hosting. FreeBSD is a hosting service that I rent. It is necessary for everything to work on FreeBSD.
Permissions are set as necessary ... At the 0755 folder and the files 0644

And have you checked that all the files exist? I'd particularly do a check of the XOOPS files and the SmartSection files. I'm not sure what to say, personally, yet, based on those error messages. I'm sorta still foraging in the dark.

All files are in perfect order! The problem in the settings of web server! But where .... apparently something is blocking upgrade or something else! For me it is very vzhno, I want everything to work correctly, although not specifically interfere with:))

I think you get a database error with the 'Changing field partial_view in table r1_smartsection_items'.
Not sure what the module is exactly trying to do with the field, but it could be a problem with the MySQL version. Eg v5 not allowing older v4 syntax (I'm only guessing).

PHP, MySQL version? db collation?

I tried different verssii MySql! Nothing works or with 5 or 4 version

I have same problem.

On my local server, SmartSection 2.14 don't wanna upgrade.

Using Xoops 2.4.4.

I've tried SmartSection 2.15 to copy over 2.14 and try to upgrade, still no luck.

Any idea?

When I go to Categories, I got this warning:
Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in C:\Program Files\EasyPHP5.3.0\www\dng\html\modules\smartsection\admin\category.php on line 88

But, when I try to create new category, I got the same warning and broken screen (there is nothing under Category treemenu).

Pls, help. :)

edit: The debugger was also broken but I've managed to see this:
