Yep, coming from the 0.5~4 seconds you were getting down to 0.09 seconds by simply utilizing XOOPS caching system is a very good achievement, and just goes to show that XOOPS is more than just a pretty face. That is of a reduction in page exection time to between 2.25% ~ 18% of what it was before. That is a trully mamoth performance increase.

Well, I still hate the long urls and short urls hack is a headache to deal with. I dont even want to try and fix things so it works

And Google is just not indexing my site, I've submitted it more than once and its never on google.
Is the idea that search engines dont index long urls myth or truth?

From time to time, the xoops.org seems really slow too
How about putting ur page gen time counter and queries on the site?

I personally think you are better off using a URL rewriter on the webserver level rather than at the XOOPS level. Can be argued either way though I think.

Have you had a read through this page for Google indexing info?

I realized what I did to get the time down, cache the main menu. Which is a very bad idea though it does save ten queries.
That could be a area for imporvement for the next versions of xoops.

How can you check the HTML requests for your site? I'm trying to speed mine up :)

The slowness of xoops.org is really starting to bug me. I hit submit and the page never shows, so i hit submit again and there we go, duplicate posts.
I am going to release a article about XOOPS and its speed. With all due respect to the developers who have worked really hard on Xoops, its just not fast enough or enough caching or code that is fast and to the point.
How about putting a page generation timer on the xoops.org site. Show the world how fast it is?

@jdhf99

I use a tool called IBM Page Detailer Basic which is a freeware *although you do have to register first) tool from IBM Alphaworks. Just do a goog search and you should get there pretty quick .

By this do you mean release a guide on how to improve performance of your XOOPS system? I hope so as the way you have worded it it sounds like you intend to intentionally go out of your way to badmouth Xoops. Obviously I assume the first option as it wouldn't make sense to badmouth a community that had done nothing other than provide you with a free CMS, that had also gone to significant lengths to help you out when you asked for help.
