Guess what, I deleted version 2.0.6 and tried version 1.3.10 and it works very well
have a look
http://www.4elol.net/xoops/modules/news/

Now, if I want to upgrade to V. 2.0.6, do I need to remove every thing including my data base?

Also how do I add a forum to my xoops?

Thanks to all of you.

First, remove ALL files, then upload the XOOPS 2.0.x files, run /install/, after a couple of tests (when checking database) it will discover the XOOPS 1.3.x tables and will automaticly start the upgrading progress.

Does he mean ALL files including floders and what is inside these folders or just th files which are not inside folders?

My seconed question is, do I upload just the content of the html folder of the new xoops? what should I do with folders: extras, diffs, docs? (this is very confusing)

Re: HELP me Please

Hi,

1) Remove all the files, including those in folders.
2) Only upload all files and folders from the html folder and all subfolders to your XOOPS directory. The rest is not necessary.

I am not sure but I think you will need to set your mainfile.dist.php again and also chmod the files and folders again like you did the first time you installed version 2.0.6.

When you open your website you should automatically be guided to the installation process.

Regards,

Martijn

Re: HELP me Please

You can find a lot of usefull tips searching the site .

Make the directories uploads/, cache/ and templates_c/ and the file mainfile.php writable.

Also check out this helppage on chmodding files:

Re: HELP me Please

This implies that it cannot find the class/xoopsblock.php file in the XOOPS physical path and/or the XOOPS virtual path you defined folder you defined or that the file was not uploaded.

Also /class/template.php could not be found. Can you check how XOOPS_ROOT_PATH is defined?

Martijn
