I've quit supporting IE6 since March. Every site I create/design now has a warning for IE6 and will block them from visiting the site. I use a lot of CSS3 and HTML5, and I won't use a lot of hacks for 1 browser. I only support the latest versions of browsers, so for Opera (which I use) I only support 10.60, Safari 5 and so on. I let my sites degrade - you should reward those that use new products, not the ones who use crap.

And a lot of those users still on IE6 probably use an illegal version of Windows.
I used to use this account, but no longer.

Peekay,

I don't think anyone's necessarily saying that users shouldn't be able to see the site if they use IE6, I think the point is just as ghia states...

In general they will be able to see all the infoermation but badly presented.

I prefer using the small javascript from browser-update.org
<script type="text/javascript"
var
$buoop = {}
$buoop.ol window.onload
window.onload=function(){
 if (
$buoop.ol$buoop.ol();
 var
document.createElement("script");

e.setAttribute("type""text/javascript");

e.setAttribute("src""http://browser-update.org/update.js");

document.body.appendChild(e);

</
script>

This continues to let them use the site but just puts up a single line message at the top that let's them know they should really consider upgrading.
