I runnig both mods on my 2.2.3 site with no problems. You might try this before downgrading Xoops.

Update your system module. You do that by going into:

modules/
administration/
click the package icon at the right to update system admin module.

Like I said it all works for me.

There should be 332 lines in the grouppermform.php file. That is the one you were talking about, isn't it?

That error message you got means the file is corrupted, this has nothing to do with the News module, or with the version of XOOPS which you are running. I suggest you download the XOOPS package again, and reupload a fresh grouppermform.php file.

can anyone point me to news 1.1?

I can't seem to find a version before 1.1?

hi Jharis - yeah I tried that first of all - but no joy - I've tried it again (just for luck!) but same problems.

I've redownloaded everything and I'll try reinstalling everything from scratch as per Rowdie's instruction... fingers crossed!
