Do you mean thier games?

If so you may want to see this site: pnFlashGames.com

Or do you mean how the downloads section works?

If so then you may wish to see this excellent module from WF:

WF-Downloads

Or do you mean the newsletter?

If so then look for evannews.

Or are we talking about design?

Sorry you wasn't specific enough, when saying:

or do you mean the whole site including design in general?

The majority of what I see on this site, could be done by your self, which would save on cash.

Site designs there are a few places you can get custom designs, one of which ishttp://www.nbsdesignz.com/index.php I recently used them, and they tend to listen to every requirement you have.

Why not try having a play with XOOPS and seeing what it can do, along with the modules availiable for you today, as I said this could save you a lot of cash.

It's possible

You just have to play around the theme.html templates.

For me a first time understanding the theme system in the XOOPS took my about two days to figured it out.

For the best, you have to know the basis of CSS, HTML, PHP, and XHTML.

Also if might required some programs which can help you to edit the theme and some FTP program.

When you are making a theme, you also have to edit the templates in the administrator area. You have to Clone the Default theme before your edit.

Also in the Admin area General Setting, make sure you enable the option on theme (something for auto update theme recently). You have to turn it off if you are done with your theme.

Well i am currently already running a xoops-based software site, but the problem is i'm not completely satisfied...

1) i have currently 16462 downloads, which google doesn't seem to pickup to good, as it doesn't crawl deep enough into the subcategories... so in my opinion a good thing would be to include other categorydownloads into the single file downloadspage too...
2) url-rewriting seems to be a problem... meaning instead of singlefile.php for instance kazaa2media.html...
