Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to read my query.

As suggested by another user, I'll answer these questions first:

~~~~~~~
Do you have PHP? Version. -- php 5.0.0
Do you have SQL? Version. -- MySQL 4.0.20a
Apache/ISS/Other? Version. -- Apache 2.0.50
Xoops? Version. -- XOOPS 2.0.7
Do you have a DB, with correct name and pass. -- i can connect to MySQL as the root user.
Register Globals, on/off? -- don't know what this means.
Xoops URL? -- not installed yet.
Xoops Path? -- C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs
Can you see install.php? -- no, but i can see http://localhost/install/index.php
Can you see index.php? -- see above answer
OS - Windows XP
~~~~~~~

My question:

When I run http://localhost/install/index.php the first screen in the installguide comes up.

I select english, (the only option) and click next.

But it simply reloads my current screen!?

Any idea why this occurs?

Many Thanks,
Matt

one possible cause is that you have not enabled cookies for localhost. Enable the cookies and try it again.

Good thinking, but no, both firefox and IE have all cookies enabled.

I also looked in the stored cookie list and found a cookie from localhost.

Thanks Though! :) Hopefully someone else knows...

I think the next step when i get into the office tomorrow will be to ensure all the php files have execute permissions and all that sort of thing.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

OKAY.... :)

I've GOT it...

I moved away from Apache 2 and PHP 5 on Windows XP and 2000 and moved to the previous versions of each (1.3 and 4.3.8).

That got me past this problem.

Hope this Helps!
