Those of you with successful sites... What did you do when you first released your new site to attract new members? What would you do differently if you could do it again?

Actually my sight has been up for less than two months, and I have not yet did an Official Release Publicly. If you are planning to do alot of media/press campaigning....my advice if it is a Member Portal..is to grow it first, get members...then release it....that way, when you do release it....people will come to a site that is actice, which inturn make them want to actually participate...My site..I opened i think May 25th...I have 200 members...about 10-15 are really active...but those members keep my site running well....so when I do go to the press/media....with my site..and people come on from the attention of the media....They will want to join in on the fun......
