oscommerce for nuke has been out in variations for about 6 months to a year now...


oscommerce for XOOPS could be at the same point, but development doesn't seem to be moving forward

it is. nukecommerce was *very* shoddy when it first released, so when i first visited XOOPS and noticed the quality of the xoopscommerce module, i was very impressed.

i don't use oscommerce, but i had been shopping around for a good solution for a buddy, which is how i noticed it.


anyways, tom, you might have been better off to get a copy of Emporium and just have it converted to xoops, from nuke (Emporium is an excellent shop module, fromhttp://www.burnwave.com, feature-packed and easy to use, and yes, it's not free, but $35 ain't much). good luck with your commerce/xoops efforts

Hey bd_csmc Emporium looks pretty cool! Too bad it doesn't handle subscriptions

Working with a customer who wanted it, we did a XOOPS with aMember plugin. It works beautifully but plugin setup doesn't come with a lot of explanation not that it's difficult anyway but like Tom, I didn't like how it was not too well integrated from the user point because you can login via XOOPS or you can login via aMember however unless you create a link to the subscription account page from Xoops, users won't be able to access their account. It's not a huge problem but it can get confusing for customers IMHO. Still waiting patiently here for your module Tom

heh, you're from NC too eh? what city?


emporium is excellent, and i think subscriptions might be a future feature. you can always hire the developer to add in a new feature asap, he's pretty good (works for IBM now, too, programming. says alot about his skill )

but at least i'm not too far from the mountains, and it's not TOO bad of a ride to the beach.

Thank you for the posts guys. ive been trying to figure this out all day. i found xosc.xoops2.org , but it looks like an abandoned project. I guess emporium is the cream of the crop for incorporating portals and e commerce on an open source budget huh?

Thanks for the massive props, Jon :)

Emporium is being rewritten totally in OO, so incorporating it into another CMS/Portal system shouldn't be a problem in the near future.

I still have lots of work before I am satisfied with it.

(I also moonlight as a DJ. Nice site stickfingers ;) )
