News uses a new version of the template - if some themes have their own templates for certain modules including News is not a problem with the News module, but with the theme.

Could you just tell me would new copy will work with x2t templates. Thats only what i would like to know.

Since the x2t theme overrides any templates in the News module, which also existed in earlier versions of the module, there's nothing I can do about that.

You can of course remove the news_index.html template from the x2t theme.
