I'm new to XOOPS and this whole php thingy... I thing for being a novice, my site is turning out pretty well; however, i'm having a few problems... Can anyone help?

1) If I choose a different theme or template nothing seems to ever change. I managed to load a couple of template, but when I pick a different one...nothing happens. Anyone know where I can find some documentation or something that could walk a novice through this????

2) My menu buttons, etc. are all short... they don't span the whole column. How do I fix this?

3) How do I modify the top of the page to put my logo up there?

Any help would be appreciated...

Here's what I have so far... http://www.jla-online.com/thelot

Note: Remember to effect all changes you must go to Sytem Admin -> Preferences -> General Setting [edit] -> and set "update module template.html..." to yes and then select go at bottom of screen. This will update your site to effect all changes (remember to go back once settings have taken effect and set same to no and update once again).

have you also cloned your templates? to change the image you need to edit the theme.html that is in the directory of your current theme.

I haven't cloned anything. Am I suppose to? I'm very ignorant about what's going on with this stuff...

I'll try and find theme.html...

Thanks for you help... That XOOPS for dummies helped me a lot. I have one other thing I wish I knew how to change... I have the news module as my opening page. It looks good except for the fact there doesn't seem to be any "cell padding" to the news body. The border and the beginning of the text are almost on top of each other. I've searched and searched, but I can't figure out where to change it... Any ideas...?
