All the best CMS's now have WYSIWYG editors. So I reckon someone should make one for Xoops....just a suggestion.

Yep, we are hard at work with this. Samuels has come a really long way with the Koivi editor as a XOOPS class, but we'll still need to figure out a way to include it in the core so that another editor can be plugged in, should a better one emerge.

I just tried Xoop over at opensourcecms.com and didn't see the wysiwyg in action, seemed to run on bb code

Does this mean that wysiwyg won't be available until you get the swap out mechanism working?

We have converted the Spaw editor to a XOOPS Module.

Please Read the insructions, they are pretty lame but we are working on detialed documentation just now.
