I am in despair.

I tried a lot of content/menu modules, but found that some are buggy and other don't do what I want.

I want a really simple thing:
To create unlimited new menu items in main menu, and have them open different html content in the center block when I click on them.

There was one specific module I tried, a modified version of TinyD, one that allows to clone menus, but it only allowed dirs like tinycontent0, tinycontent1, etc, and I want dirs with names that actually mean something.

I don't need fancy features, just a simple module. Of course, if there is a 'fancy' module that does that, I will go with it too.

Important: it is very important to add new menu items in the main menu, and not in another menu.

Suggestions?

Hi,

You can change the name of a module and thereby its entry in the main menu by going to:
Administration / System / Module
and changing the name of the module which is listed in the "Module" row.

Good luck,

Alan

You can see this on my site:
where for example I've renamed "Sections" "Orte, Zeiten & Termine"

Did you use tinycontent?

Hi,
your right, the link is nok - the second set of inverted commas has been included - my mistake - this will work:
- Link
I've got the duplicable version of tiny content in my "development" part - it works ok - but I've only got installed it once and haven't tried it out much yet.

I need to go now - maybe I'll be able to look in later on today.

Good luck,

Alan

Well, I tried it, but when I rename tinycontent0 to something else, it just bugs - can't install the module.

Help? :)

There are old threads discussing about Tinycontent Duplication and even cloning the News module. Do a search for those as they would be helpful in this case.

I didn't find anything like this.

Isn't there some good module that is not a hack that actually allows edit the main menu (multilevel menus) and add simple html pages?

I mean, it sounds like a basic feature, but I've spent 3 days trying to find the right module.

Maybe this could shed some light on some easy ideas for you if you haven't read it already. It may not be the answer you want but there are some alternative tips for the menu system found within the guild.

Xoops For Dummies

The thread that DobePhat has listed works very well to. But in the XOOPS for Dummies it also has a one page module that can be manipulated in many ways and can also be used for setting up new pages with submenus and you can add content to each page through XOOPS like you can with any other module pages. Or use it to create your own content pages as well.
