Following a recent post here about guestmaps, I thought I would demo this one by !Xenolth.biz. It's open source and there are some bugs in the scripts. However its under the GNU and could well be adapted in the XOOPS environment. ( I mean Linking with user ID, single posting, admin, ip blocking etc.

You can see my demo guestmap HERE!Feel free to have a play

Carnuke, you have some of the neatest dang things on your site. I didn't do much with the guestmap because I didn't want my email address exposed in a guestbook anywhere, but I still thought the app was cool (as are so many other things on your site - including the design!). keep up the great work!

Before you rush to install this. There are some limitations on this beta version ... There is no admin! cant delete entries, cant block multiple postings, cant edit entries, cant link to XOOPS user IDs cant customise forms, cant zoom maps etc. Well, if you can handle MySQL DB of course you can do these manually, but the script is user limited in this respect.

This is an awesome (application? module?).
If you ever decide to link it with user database, it would rock, majorly. I will be the first to download it. :)

Your site is cool, how did you get 4 news pages together like that?

Thanks for the comment Unfortunately, my attention is towards documentation right now, not module development/porting. BUT if anyone else wants to take this up PLEASE DO. As I said in my first post it comes under the GNU so its portable.

Re 4 news pages ... Umm well, in fact, its straight forward html all in a custom block. Usual stuff, tables images formatting

Someone needs to fine tune this and design an XOOPS module for it. This to me shows exactly what is so unique about xoops. XOOPS has pulled people together from every corner of the world. I have never found anything on the internet that is so multicultural as Xoops. I sure would like to have something on my site like this. Applause to the originator... my hats off to ya :)

After reading the other thread on this program, I thought I might have a go at making it into a module - but as i'm not a coder, it's not that easy :P but I have started working on it. If anyone wants to assist, I wouldn't knock them back ;)
