I did do all of the above several times.
clean template_c
update all modules
deleted cookies and cleaned the cache on my computer until I am blue in the face.
I was able to enter and do all functions verrrry good as webmaster. Website functioned excellent.

Can I do this new install and copy the mainfile.php to the new install and just go?

I did just do a sql debug.
Got the following error message.

I do not have a clue what this means!

Again, the site works good for webmaster.
Just noticed the
mainfile.php
define('XOOPS_GROUP_ADMIN', '5');
define('XOOPS_GROUP_USERS', '1');
define('XOOPS_GROUP_ANONYMOUS', '0');
mainfile.dist.php
define("XOOPS_GROUP_ADMIN", "1");
define("XOOPS_GROUP_USERS", "2");
define("XOOPS_GROUP_ANONYMOUS", "3");
Shouldn't these be the same and are they suppose to match the "level" number in the DB?
If these numbers all matched and matched the "level" number in the DB should the permissions be corredt?

Did you say you had to reupload the database in several uploads? What are you using to manage your database? Do you have the original schema dump that you reuploaded?

Yes, I back up every night at midnight or there abouts with automatic back up script.

The problem is with permissions.
I have turned on everything and it works until a member logs in. Then get the blank page (just header and footer).
When I log in as webmaster I can do everything, it all works good.
I just do not know how to match up the users permissions with the database.
Did not mention before.
I have had this messageobard for a while IPB and use the mod written for XOOPS at bbpix.com.
Originally the conversion program transferred my old database from the IPB db to this one.
The permission numbers are different than the orginal ones here.

Again have had XOOPS up and running good for about a month. No problems.
