Question about the XOOPS banner engine...

I've been adding clients and banner's into the banner engine in xoops, and I've noticed when you add a client you can enter a username and password. I'm assuming this is so advertising customers can log in and check impressions and clicks. My two questions are 1) Is my assumption correct, and 2) If it is correct, how do clients log in to check this information.
