Hi Community

How can I mail cc the webmaster when a user request a new password? I guess it must be in the lostpass.php on line -

$xoopsMailer->setToUsers($getuser[0]);

I'm not sure what the new syntax should be.

Thanks

This is untested, but you could try adding:

$xoopsMailer->addHeaders('Cc: ' $xoopsConfig['adminmail']);

Away from the technical part ... why would you want that?

If i saw a cc or bcc to admin in the header of my password recovery mail as a user i really wouldn´t like that ...

The users passwords are usually none of your business and if there is something that needs to be done under the user account for whatever important reason you could still reset it to whatever you like. This gives the user the chance to notice that his/her password is no longer only known to them because they would have to have it sent to them to know the new one.

I agree with Bender here - the user must know that the password retrieval procedure is completely without intervention from a webmaster. Even though the password is changed to the one sent in the email, I wouldn't like it, if that was the case.

You can, however, send an additional PM/email to the webmaster(s) that this user has requested a new password, so you can monitor if the feature is being abused. But I would advice against your idea.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies.

Dave_L: Thank you, I tested and looks like your code works.

Bender and Mithrandir: I agree with you. However I'm delivering a service to a client and if this is what he insist upon then that's what I do. I guess he want's to keep his own audit trail on password changes etc. However, I will follow your advice, and try to convince him to stick to the default

Thanks
