This has gotta be simple. I am creating a private site for family, and I want to display nothing until they log in, at which time the news module will the default module.

When I make news the default module, it displays the news for anonymous users. I want anonymous users to have access to nothing but the login stuff. Is there a simple way to restrict things the way I want?

Easy.
Go to your admin menu > Groups > Anonymous users, and uncheck anything you don't want them to see.

Thanks, Bassman. I was looking at the Blocks page, and it seemed you could set the visibility for the different groups, but it was not having any effect.

So... Users will get the permission problems if I make news the default module, which means I need to have no default module. So, how do you get the redirect to news after the login?

I am having the same problem. How do I get the user redirected to the news module "after" a user has logged in?

The problem is that if I make the News module for members only, the user gets directed to the login page. After they login they get taken to the userinfo page. I need to get them to the News module after they login.

Is there an easy way to do that?
