I was wondering if you can use an IDE like Zend Studio?
If you can are there any limitations / concerns I should be aware of?
Currently my IDE is kedit Not too powerfull, but real clean ya know. My application is getting a little big for my little mind to keep track of.

Is any one using a real IDE? If so what is it? Why that one?

Thanks,

JMass

I use Zend. It really is great. Used phpcoder before, which had most of the same features, but Zend is just that bit more responsive - but of course, that is what you pay for.

I have never used anything except a simple text editor. Does it make any difference to Zend (or other IDEs) that you are working with Xoops. Or does it just see it as one big program. I want to try it, but want to be sure it will work for XOOPS development before I buy.

If the price is a problem you can always use Eclipse IDE...they have a plug-in for PHP and CVS is intergrated within the app.

I may be rather stupid, but I've tried time and time again (just did, btw) to install Eclipse and get it working with non-Java projects...

I'll just stick to what I know.

I have been using PHPEdit for about 2 years now, it's buggy as hell but I think once they get these sorted out it should be an excellent bit of software for working with, plus it's free.

Any way for anyone to supply me with this? I'd like to try it out, but the installer stalls at "host [name] found... connecting" and won't go further.
