no news, just white screen!

I installed XOOPS on my server and activated the NEWS module (making it visible).

When I click on the NEWS module box, topics manager or post/edit news all I get is white screen. However, news>preferences works just fine.

I've tried updating the module as well as unistalling it, but nothing works.

Help, please?

If you can go to the administration menu, please go to System Admin -> Preferences -> General Settings and set debug to "php debug".

After that, go to the page(s) giving you a blank screen and see if you get an error message.

php errors are by default suppressed so as not to give away e.g. server paths etc. which could be used by a hacker or just annoy your users.

Thanks. When I activated debug I now get

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class xoopsuser in /home/mneddjz/public_html/x/class/xoopsuser.php on line 110

when I click on the news module.

Actually, I'm using v2.0.5 - I didn't realize I wasn't running the newest version. Would upgrading fix this problem?

I don't think so - although it would probably not hurt

Per default, you shouldn't encounter errors like the ones you describe... so a guess could be corrupted files... but I just don't see how it would give those errors

I updated to 2.0.06 and it fixed the problem.

XOOPS is great!
