Is it possible to create multiple headline blocks that will accept RSS feeds. I guess this would be similar to Topicblocks, but for RSS.

I have searched the forum and found nothing like this.

The headline block looks nice when placed in the middle left or right. So I would like 2 or 4 headline blocks each with its own title and appropriate news headlines.

I think your going to have to clone the module.

What file needs to be modified so that XOOPS thinks the cloned module is a unique mod that is not already installed?

mainly xoops_version.php - but there may be references inside the module (especially in blocks) which also needs changing.

There has a simple modules in xoop version 1.x
"headlines"
You can download old version and found the modules in there.
