changing the standard message icons

Hi everyone.

I am trying to change the standard message icons on my setup. I've already uploaded the icons in images\subject directory but it's the old icons that i can see when i test the setup.

How do I go about changing/updating it?

You may need to clear your browser cache and delete files from template_c folder.

there are several files inside template_c. are all of thems safe to delete?

Clearing your browser cache and deleting temporary internet files should be enough to see changes made in images. But I usually take it one step further and delete files in templates_c whenever I make layout changes.

Technically, all files in templates_c folder are safe to delete. But it's adviced to leave the index.html file in there.

I want to add more Message Icons how do I go about doing this? I have searched the forum's and this is the only thread I found about message blocks. Thanks in advance for any help!

I would like to know that too. Adding another gif file in the images/subject directory also adds a new "Message Icon" selection box in the "New Post" or "Edit Post" page. But selecting it doesn't brand it with the new icon, it uses the default square icon instead.

Ok I take that back It works indeed, but it always displays the icon of the last message in a thread - which was not the behaviour i expected. I thought it would always display the icon of the first post.

So the resolution is indeed to put more gif images in the images/subject directory.
