i plan to edit/replace the default avatars that comes with the XOOPS package to make my site unique . are there size recommendations or limits? (ie should icons/avatars be the same size as the one included in the package?)

do we have available documentation on locations of the system or BB avatars?

I would recommend the smaller the better. I think the sizes used here on XOOPS are pretty good. It's also a good idea to have a uniform size, as it starts to look real messy with heaps of different sized avatars.

ive allways had a small limit on avatar size's and i use the smallest smiley faces lol i think there 5 x x pixles or 8 x 8 cant remmber but i use the small things because they look ok and they dont chew the bandwith. having large avatars are nice but yeh they can start to get ugly when you have all different size avatars and god knows what size. Keep it simple thats my motto. If your after some nifty stuff this is a good site to Visit.
