Makeing Old Post not look New

I am useing an XOOPS system and the forums never not show new post even after a week its still seen as a new post I have checked every settign I can think of how in the worl do you get it to not show as new after you have read it?

Do you have your cache set on for your forum? I had that problem, and disabled caching.

I tryed it both ways on and off dont seam to matter
