Changing Xoops root URL

A little back story.

I set up all of my page on a subdomain of another site.

I just purchased a domain name and it's parked to the subdomain - I have all the links in the page set up as the code with $xoops_url. Is there a way to change what that points to so that it will stay with the subdomain? Is that possible?

Does anyone know? I'm pretty sure I had set it at one time, it must be possible to somehow change it.

Other than that I have another question also. Is it possible to set a cookie in XOOPS so you don't have to log in everytime you visit?

I didn't understand your other question. Are you saying that, in effect, that you want to move XOOPS from one location to another one? If so, the paths are specified in mainfile.php.

mainfile.php is great. Thanks.

Ok this hack, I did everything it said but my page is showing up white.

Any idea what I could have messed up? What would cause that?

I've gone over all the code several times now and I don't see anything that's wrong.

It says to "update your system module." Is that ment to be through the module admin? I cannot access that.

Try and login to
yoururl/user.php
if you can, then you can go to or type in:
yoururl/modules/system/admin.php

then under system admin choose Modules and click the package to the right of system.

If you can't login turn on debug (in common.php, you can do a search on the forums for more info)

also post back with more detail of your set up...
