hello,
i've uploaded XOOPS to my webspace, unziped it via SSH, moved the files to the root-dir, chmoded /uploads, /cache, /templates_c, and mainfile.php to 777 and i've created a mySQL-db.
but when i try to start the installation all i get is just a warning about textsanitizer.php (i suppose this is the first bit of "real" code executed in the installation progress...)

please help me. i've some experience with webservers and perl, but i'm a total novice to php...

for the error i get clicking on that link it looks like you didn't unzip the files and directories at the root but inside the cgi-bin folder wich usually doesn't allows you to execute anything that's not cgi.

the path it shows is: home/w11377/web/public_html/cgi-bin/xoops/install/index.php

i now moved it to home/w11377/web/xoops/ but still get the same errors

my webhost said the path to php is /usr/bin/php
can this be the problem?

i got it: the unzipped files were all chmoded 600. although i changed the chmods for the directories specified in the guide to 777 i didn't change it to 755 for all the other dirs.
