moderator question

ok for some reason i cant specify who moderates what forum, everyone i set as a moderator has global moderator privlages. i specified who moderates in the edit forum, select moderator and all that.

can someone please give me a hint

You can make registered users forum moderators just from the 'Edit Forum' in the Admin.

If they have 'global' privileges, which I would mean as they have Module Admin rights, go check your group settings. This is often where module admin rights are set. Forum moderators do not need to have a special group. Do you have a group for Moderators?

i dont have any moderators set in a group, here is what i did. i went into "edit forum" and set who i wanted as a moderator for that particular forum. but they cant edit or delete any posts in that forum for some reason.
when i put the users into the moderator group in the admin they have access to edit\delete any thread they want in any forum.

By default, forum moderators that are not webmasters can only delete, move, lock and make "sticky" a full thread. They do not have rights to edit individual posts.

Here's a NewBB Hack that might interest you.

thanx for that hack! now i just have to figure out why in gods name i cant get my mods to only be a moderator of one forum. i have to be doing something wrong.
