Hi!

I am a total newbie when it comes to this, but today a friend helped me install XOOPS 2.0.5.2 .. After the install was finished I started looking around in the admin webtool and messed around with the settings for a while.. When messing around in the permission settings I must somehow have removed permission for webmasters to administer...(Yeah, yeah.. I know..=) At least I lost the main admin tool in the Administration Menu..

So.. how do I fix this? And should it really be possible to do it.. ? =)

Go to the 'users' table in your database, find your admin user, and edit rank=7 and level=5, that should do it :)

Err... right.. and where do I find the "user" table? =) Is that the user.php file? Remember that I am an utter newbie here.. =)

Your MySQL database.
There is a table xoops_user (depends on your table prefix).
There you can find the fields rank and level.

So, if you are a newbie, the question is how get you access to
your database? Am I right?

When I log in with my admin account, I get the "User Menu". There is the "Administration Menu" link under the user menu.. When I click the "Administration Menu" option, I get only the modules that I added before.. I can only choose "Forum" and "News" (thats the modules I've added so far).. I have no administrator menu.. I cant change anything except those two modules.. I guess I have to open the files and manually change that in the code somewhere.. But I have no idea where to search for it and what to change..

IF you can get to it, try going to URL

http://www.yoursite/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups

then go to webmaster and re-check all of the system admin rights.
that might help.

I have the same problem.

I looked in the user table and the level is 5 and rank is 7, but I can't see the admin menu, only the forum menu.

I added a second user for forum use (as moderator) and already change those levels to lvl 5 and rank 7, but still no luck

Help please, I'm still a small n00b in this but getting the hang of it.
