I'd like to customise the user info files, like website, ICQ, AIm etc to more meangful heading sfor my membership - however when I rename the website field (define('_US_WEBSITE','Website');) it automatically adds http:// to the field entry.

How could I remove that please?

Check userinfo.php and see if there isn't a nice little function adding http:// to the $xoopsUser->getVar('url') (or website or link or whatever the name is, sorry) and remove that.
