Re: YaBB Module

Warning: Unable to access /home/endoria/gbourlon/public_html/2/modules/system/cache/config.php

I've never used this module but the warning seems to indicate that maybe you should chmod the cache folder of that module to 777.

Don't think so... this module doesn't have a cache folder. Maybe that's the problem?
The only folders it contains are: admin, attachments, blocks, packages, sources, sql, templates, X H and yabbimages.

This was the problem folks:

Under YABBSE folder you have SETTINGS.PHP. The second line ( or the first one ) says:

require("../../mainfile.php");

All you have to do is to call XOOPS mainfile.php from the root directory, so it should like:

require("http://localhost/mainfile.php");

or

require("http://localhost/html/mainfile.php");

depends what's your XOOPS root.

Anyway, this YABB module is still buggy, but at least you can run it under xoops.

PROBLEMS: you still can't LOG IN or REGISTER. Same problem on the YaBB_TDfX official web site.

I'read on the Dutch YaBB support site, the yabb dev team is working on a new board, the Simple Machine Forum. This new board will able to fit in XOOPS with a stable module. Patience...

OK, that's good info. If any new update about it please provide. Especially if there're new links for download.

Thanks

Simple Machines is actually a Xoops-like portal solution. It is being developed by the same folks who developed Yabb. So, obviously it will include a Yabbse forum module.

That being said, the whole thing has been promised for about nine months and still has not been released. I would not hold my breath. I think they discovered that this type of software is not nearly as easy to get out the door as they thought.

In addition, it will not be at all compatable with Xoops. So, you would have to decide whether XOOPS or Yabbse was more important. You won't be able to use both.

I have a XOOPS site and I have a Yabbse site. I have the same problem facing me.

Well, it's not the problem. I just like XOOPS more than any other platform. It's very usefull. From other side, YabbSe is a great FORUM and I would like to see it as module for xoops. I know it's hard work, but anything is posible. However, we had the first steps:

We’ll see.
