Just a quick post to say to all new users when I installed XOOPS all problems I had were not actually XOOPS but were caused by my firewall. I set up the firewall as per suggested in other posts but it still caused probs.

My advice when installing XOOPS is just disable your firewall for the short time it takes to install. Thats what I did after struggling with just about every problem I have seen posted on here and when my firewall was disabled I had no problems at all.

I also got stuck with the first time to admin section problem I have seen posted here and that was also due to my firewall, disabled the firewall and no probs.
