Check groups and group permissions in the System Admin -> Groups in your Admin menu. Check which group you belong to and the permissions for that group.

Thanks for trying but that didn't help. I even checked all of the boxes for webmaster and it didn't even let me see the links on the main menu or when I logged out, I didn't see the login boxes on the right.

I'm no expert but I'd say you must have forgot a like or something in your theme.html file of your Theme.

Hope that helps.

Is this a patch upgrade? Why does your URL have an "html" before the modules (.../html/module/news)? I think you're supposed to upload folders and files under the "html" folder but not include that folder.

Including the "html" folder would make ".../url/html/" your root directory for xoops.

Thanks everyone but nothing is working. i even tried reinstalling it on another server and it still refuses to work. I guess this is how the program treats new comers. lol

Josh, you installed the XOOPS wrong. You're supposed to install everything that's in the html folder into directory you want to install to. You're not supposed to upload the entire folder that says html, just want's in it. Try installing everything that is in the html folder and not the folder itself this time and see if that will work for you.
