Well, here is how I look at it.

The Special Sections module is PERFECT for what it does.

It works for me. All it needs and what the XOOPS CORE needs is better permissions flexibility.

You see, I have XOOPS "out of the box" so to speak, and while it lacks a great deal of features and I cannot use it for many other sites I would like to, for PoliticsForum.Com it works "out of the box"!

It is FAST
It is CLEAN
It is FREE (although I contribute financially quite a bit.
and
it is BUG FREE as far as I can see.

I have never used PHP-Nuke and never will.

Good, stay away from PHP-Nuke, it's bug-ridden, full of security holes, etc... I'm trying to leave PHP-Nuke, but attempting to get XOOPS setup to my satisfaction first, eheh

it'd be nice if we could manually split this off from your original request, since our little conversation has just distracted users from your original request... :-\

Did I miss something? How do you contribute finacially? Never mind, isn't important. Free beer.

The point being made is that you might start with something that is at least structured nicely and go from there. if it meets up with your egotistical priorities then you'll be a hero by posting it back as a useful module. That is contributing.

Write the damn thing yourself since apparently the other good folks can't possibly live up to your needs or lofty position in the Q.

Sometimes you try hard to mean well but it isn't difficult to get your infamous side exposed for what it is.

Exactly.

Learn, do, be happy. Sometimes denying the validity of things so strongly is the most fanatical faith based belief out there. But that is a completly different topic. It just bleeds into eveything else with some people.
