Can I delete the first entries in the session table, because the table is 2.8 mb?

I believe you can, yes.

The session table should just keep track of online users and the worst thing that can happen is that people currently browsing the site will be logged out.

2.8 MB? I'd delete all entries in it, something must be going wrong in the logout procedure on your site.

MithyT2 already told you, 2.8mb is really, really big for a session table...

Little question in XOOPS admin (administration menu - system admin - settings) ho high did ya set the session time? Remember this is declared in minutes, so if you put on 12 months, whoaah....
