I'VE BEEN SEARCHING THRU THIS FORUM FOR THE LAST MONTH AND I FIGURE OUT THAT EVERYONEONE FOR THE SOME REASON IS AVOIDING TO ANSWER THE SIMPLE QUESTION: HOW TO LET MY HEADLINES MODULE TO SHOW HEADLINES FROM MY LATEST NEWS???

IS THERE ANYONE FAMILIAR AND HAVE TIME TO EXPLAIN THIS IN NORMAL LANGUAGE.

IT SEAMS THAT ONLY WWW.XOOPS.ORG HAVE PRIVILEGE TO SHOW HEADLINES IN THAT EASY WAY AS IT IS PRESENTED. I WANT THE SAME THING ON MY WEB SITE.

I have three sites and I am using the headlines in two of them.

Did you check the admin area of the headlines module? In it are SEVERAL options that controls how it looks. One of those options is to Display (or not) in Full View (I think the default has this turned off). Try turning it on.... see what happens.
The module does work, I've got several feeds running on mine, and in fact I even run my own feeds back to me!http://www.developerkb.com/modules/xoopsheadline/
It's far from useless. Now, maybe the problem is the RSS feed you are trying to display. I don't know.

OK ... I GOT IT, IT WORKS NOW ... I WAS STUPID ... BUT THERE'S ANOTHER PROBLEM ... NOW I HAVE MY HEADLINES SHOWED UP ON MY FRONT PAGE BUT INSTEAD OF FEW FIRST SENTENCES I HAVE COMPLETE NEWS + LINK "more" ... ALSO, WHEN I CLICK THE LINK FOR THE NEWS IT SHOWS IN NEW WINDOW INSTEAD to reload ON THE XOOPS CENTER FRAME...

what i have to do to show up just a few sentences of my posted news + link "more" ...

and how to let it reload in XOOPS center frame ...

Maybe you don't know this, writing your post in cap letters mean you are yelling and screaming at us.

I think maybe more people will help you if you don’t yell.

Here are some suggestions:
1- First assume that you are doing something wrong and the module is OK
2- Try to find your answers at XOOPS Wiki -> see left block for link
3- Try searching for answers at the forum
4- Remember XOOPS is easy to use but there are still thinks you have to learn if you like to use XOOPS or any other CMS. If you don’t have the nerve pay somebody to do it for you.
5- If you can’t find the answer go to the forum and ask your question as brief as possible. Meaning bring all details of the problem but don’t add stuff like “WHATEVER ... I'M GOING TO DELETE IT ... IT'S USELES MODULE !!! JESUS ...”

Now let’s go to your problem.
Read techgnome’s message about the options you have in the headline module preferences.
Remember where I was saying all other options select yes, well if you don’t wont to show all text you will have to select no at “Display in full view”.

“Display in full view”. - i have selected NO and now i have just links to the news and nothing else. what's next?

also, is there a way to get rid of the first part of the headlines page ( i mean: webmaster, generator, language ...) - there's an option not or "do" show the picture, not or "do" show the block ...

The links should be the subject lines of the news.
When you click on the subject, you will be taken to the headlines page where you can see more info.
I guess I don't understand the question.
What are your expectations? I mean what do you wont the module to do?

About the picture. When you are in the headlines page you should see the logo of the website which is providing you with the news feed. In our example that would be the GuyScope logo.
You can select no for picture and you will then not see the GuyScope logo anymore.
