Sorry for bringing this up again; however I would like to know what I can do to change the cookie settings so users stay logged in until they log out.

They find it annoying to keep logging in everytime they visit the web site; I understand this was in place for security precautions.

Site Preferences
General Settings
Use custom session = Yes
Session name = Use any unique name like mysite_session
Session expiration = 99999

AAUUGGHH!
That is actually a horrible thing to do. Those settings will keep the session object open for 9999 minutes! Which means that as more users visit the site, you will experience performance degredation as the server attempts to manage all of the sessions (none of it is done on the client).
BTW: 9999 minutes is 166.65 hours, or nearly 7 days.
There are a few hacks out there to do auto-login and such.

Sorry about that.
I figured as long as you don't have tons of visitors this will do.
But 7 days is a bit much 1 day should have been enough.
