Say, I want to enforce some kind of username format, which should be used for registration...

some kind of regex check, like what I mentioned in https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=12932&forum=20

I guess core-hack is only way to achieve this...

btw, register.php (line 89-91 is redundant, no blank is possible after strict/medium/loose restriction check)
