Sure but it only changes the output date order, not the match between post date and output published date.

1) When I change in the Preferences the "Date format" to
m/d/Y

2) Regarding the block "Recent Articles (Details)" , it was a bug, and it's now fix it.

Thanks, I'll get the patched release.

For the image give a look at these 2 printscreens:

As you can see, the editing article date is 9-Jan-2017 but, also changing "Date Format" output in Publisher preferences, the output is Sep-1-2017 (or 1-Sep-2017).

p.s. You could see some italians word 'cause I'm translating the publisher language files.

Does this happen only when you change a article or also when you create a new one?

Can you show a screenshot of what you have in the Publisher's Preferences?
Is XOOPS using the Italian language, or only Publisher?

The problem is both in new posts and modifying an existing one.
I've just verified that setting in "global xoops preferences" english language the problem disappears.

So publisher module is ok but there should be an error in the xoops translation files or in other core sections (for 2.5.9 I'm still using a 2.5.8.1 translation taken from the Hub)
May you address me to some files to inspect ?

Check the "global.php" file in your language in XOOPS:
XOOPS/language/italian/global.php

Compare it to the English version, and make sure that things like
_SHORTDATESTRING

are correctly defined.

Problem with setting the date. If m/d/Y is set, then the date is set correctly, but many need the format d/m/Y. With this format, the date is not displayed correctly. And setting the date format of the module does not affect the display.
p.s. This applies to all modules.

And what about the date and time settings in the modules? They do not work.
